I live in an all-white town in no. California, where I taught English for 37 years. My first exposure to our town was that it was the John Birch capitol in Calif.I taught kids that feelings are internal and never come out so love cannot be given nor taken back. It's an internal process that we each control (or not) by out interpretations of things in the world. When you love, it's the internal response to your interpretation of what you're experiencing, and when you hate, same thing! What seems odd to me is that there are people ready to hate in a second, because they are full to the brim with hating just as lovers are full of love and seem to gush love readilyPeople love things like sunshine and hate things like broccoliboth becaause it's their personal style. In some cases, it's more familiar and easier to handle hating than putting fAITH IN LOVING.
